Five years of CVE in the US is enough! The #StopCVE Coalition demands an end to the CVE framework today, in all its names and forms.

The Department of Homeland Security launched their new CVE department at the beginning of the pandemic under a new name – Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP).

TVTP = CVE 2.0

• The TVTP department has a total budget of $80 million for a department that institutionalizes criminalization of Muslims and expands the surveillance state for all marginalized communities.
• Applications are due on May 29 – just after Ramadan – for $10 million of grants to deputize local “leaders” to police our communities using discriminatory “risk factors.”
• A new Privacy Impact Assessment makes clear that applying for Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention grants the opens applicants, their organization, board members, and associates to a security investigation by DHS Intelligence and Analysis.

Our coalition demands that the Department of Homeland Security eliminates the entire TVTP program. We are calling for an end to the CVE experiment in the US – we know it will lead to more harm to marginalized communities and it must be stopped today.
